DD Price Tracker is a browser extension that shows the price history of car listings on DoneDeal.ie, Used Cars NI and Auto Trader UK, and a read-only price panel on five Japanese exporter sites. This policy sets out what data it processes and your rights.
When you open a search page or ad on DoneDeal.ie, Used Cars NI or Auto Trader UK, the extension reads information that is already on the page and records one observation per ad:

Never recorded: seller names, phone numbers, email addresses, user IDs, photos, ad descriptions, your account on any of these sites, or anything you type on them.
On Goo-net Exchange, BE FORWARD, SBT Japan, TCV and Car From Japan the extension records nothing. No ad number, no price, no history, no watchlist. It asks our server two questions that are about the market and not about the listing you are looking at — the month’s official exchange rate, and the median asking price of Irish cars of the same make, model and year — and draws a panel from the answers. Nothing about the page you are on is stored on your device or sent anywhere.
Nothing is ever sent to a listing site on your behalf. The extension does not contact sellers and does not interact with your account on any site.
To know whether the extension is useful and where it fails, it reports a small set of usage events to our server: that the history panel or search badges were shown and whether there was any history to show, that the popup was opened, that “Watch price” or a setting was toggled, that the extension was installed or updated, that it is still in use (once a week and once a month, with how long ago it was installed, to the nearest few weeks), that a request to our server failed, that a listing site answered the extension with an error or a block page (the site and the status or error code only), and that the review prompt was clicked or dismissed. Each event carries only coarse values (for example “history: yes”, “ads tracked: 6 to 20”). Usage events never include an ad number, a price, a title or anything you typed.
Our server forwards these events, and the page views and button clicks on ddpricetracker.com, to PostHog, hosted in the EU, which acts as our processor. There is no cookie and no identifier stored on your device. To count daily users, our server derives a one-way code from your IP address, your browser type and a random value that is replaced every day and never kept beyond it, so the same person is one user today and an unrelated one tomorrow, and nothing can be joined across days or sites. Your full IP address is never sent onward: it is shortened to its network first, which is enough to tell what country you are in and not enough to point at a household.
If you write to us through the feedback form or the uninstall page, we store what you typed: the category you picked, your message, and the extension version, browser family and screen you came from. The reply address is optional and is used only to answer you; it is deleted after 90 days at the latest. Messages are kept for 12 months. Nothing else is stored with it: no IP address, no browser fingerprint, no identifier. To have yours deleted sooner, email ddpricetracker@gmail.com.
When you uninstall on Chrome or Firefox, your browser opens ddpricetracker.com/goodbye once. That address carries only the extension version and the browser name; the page asks, optionally, why you left. Safari does not open it. Nothing is sent from that page unless you answer.
You can ask us to email you a short monthly note on the Irish used-car market, and a line when a new edition of the depreciation league is published. It is the only email we send, and asking for it is the only reason we would ever hold your address for longer than a feedback reply.
We store your email address and the page you asked from. Nothing else: no IP address, no browser fingerprint, no identifier, and it is not joined to anything else we hold. Asking is not enough on its own — we send you one email with a confirmation link, and until you click it you are not on the list and we will never mail you again. An address that is never confirmed is deleted automatically after seven days. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that needs one click and no login, and unsubscribing deletes your row rather than moving it to a suppression list. A confirmed address is kept until you unsubscribe; to have it removed sooner, email ddpricetracker@gmail.com.
ddpricetracker.com sets no cookies and loads no third-party analytics script; page views and clicks on the install, download and coffee buttons are reported as described above. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads, under Google's privacy policy.
The data controller is DD Price Tracker (company details below). Processing is based on our legitimate interest in providing a price-history service for public listings; the data is pseudonymous and is not used to profile you. The pooled data contains no identifier for you or your device.
The email list is the exception, and it rests on consent instead. Marketing email to a person needs their prior consent under S.I. 336/2011 regulation 13, so legitimate interest does not carry it. You give that consent by confirming your address — clicking the link in the first email, which is what puts you on the list — and you withdraw it by unsubscribing, which deletes your address. Withdrawing is as easy as giving it and costs you nothing else on this site.
You can clear everything stored on your device from the extension popup (Advanced → Clear local history) or by uninstalling the extension. Because observations are not linked to a device, we cannot single out which came from you; for any other request email ddpricetracker@gmail.com. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object, and to complain to the Data Protection Commission.
We do not sell or share observations with anyone. Usage statistics are processed for us by PostHog (EU) under its data processing agreement and are never sold. Email addresses on the list are processed for us by Resend, which stores them in the United States under its data processing agreement, the transfer resting on the EU standard contractual clauses that agreement incorporates; Resend sends the mail and does nothing else with the address, and it is never sold. We may publish aggregate market statistics (for example, the median asking price of 2019 Corollas by month) that cannot identify any person.

So here is the ask. One short email a month on the Irish used-car market: which models moved, where the falls are steepest, and what a year of age is costing. Nothing else, no forwarding, and one click unsubscribes and deletes your address.
