Chrome shows that message for every extension from a developer account that is less than a few months old, whatever the extension does. It is about the age of the account, not the code, and it clears on its own once the account has a track record. Only people who have switched Chrome to Enhanced protection see it; the default setting does not. The extension reads the DoneDeal pages you open and stores public listing data, nothing about you. The privacy policy has the detail.
Nowhere identifiable. The extension sends the ad number, the price, the date and the public vehicle spec to our server so price histories can be shared between users. No account, no install ID, no cookies, and nothing about the seller.
The extension is new, so a history only exists once someone with it installed has opened that ad. Where DoneDeal itself shows a previous price, you see that straight away. Histories fill in as more people use it.
On Android, yes, in Firefox. The DoneDeal app and Chrome for Android can't run extensions, so you browse DoneDeal in Firefox for Android instead and the price history appears under every price. The Android guide walks through it with pictures in about five minutes. On iPhone and iPad, yes: install it from the App Store and it runs in Safari, the same panel under the same prices. It is the same app on a Mac. The iPhone guide has the four steps with the two Safari switches iOS makes you flick.
No. It is an independent, free tool. It only reads pages you open yourself, in your own browser, and does not touch accounts, messages or seller details.
Free, no ads, no account; nothing about you or the seller stored. Chrome, Edge, Firefox (also Android), Safari (Mac, iPhone, iPad).
On Android it runs in Firefox: the Android guide shows how.
A coffee keeps it running.
No ads and nothing sold, so the server is paid for by whoever feels like it.
One short email a month: which models moved, where the falls are steepest, and what a year of age is costing. Nothing else, no forwarding, and one click unsubscribes and deletes your address. How we handle it.
