Privacy Policy

DD Price Tracker is a browser extension that shows the price history of listings on DoneDeal.ie. This policy sets out what data it processes and your rights.

What the extension records

When you open a DoneDeal search page or ad, the extension reads information that is already on the page and records one observation per ad:

Never recorded: seller names, phone numbers, email addresses, DoneDeal user IDs, photos, ad descriptions, your DoneDeal account, or anything you type on DoneDeal.

Where it goes

• On your device, always. Observations are stored in the extension's local storage so you have a private history of every ad you have viewed, even with no internet connection.
• To DD Price Tracker's server. Observations are sent to our server to provide the price history and market statistics. The server also receives a random install ID (generated on your device, not linked to you) so we can count active installs and honour deletion requests, and your IP address as part of normal web traffic.

Nothing is ever sent to DoneDeal on your behalf. The extension does not contact sellers and does not interact with your DoneDeal account.

The website

ddpricetracker.com sets no cookies and uses no analytics scripts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads, under Google's privacy policy.

Legal basis (GDPR)

The data controller is DD Price Tracker (company details below). Processing is based on our legitimate interest in providing a price-history service for public listings; the data is pseudonymous and is not used to profile you. The pooled data is pseudonymous: an install ID cannot be tied to a person without information we do not hold.

Retention

• Price observations: kept indefinitely as part of the public market history (prices and dates of public listings).
• Install IDs: kept while the install is active and for 12 months after it is last seen.
• Server access logs including IP addresses: 7 days.

Your rights

You can clear everything stored on your device from the extension popup (Advanced → Clear local history) or by uninstalling the extension. To delete the observations tied to your install ID from our server, email privacy@ddpricetracker.com with the install ID shown in the popup's Advanced section. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object, and to complain to the Data Protection Commission.

Sharing

We do not sell or share observations linked to install IDs with anyone. We may publish aggregate market statistics (for example, the median asking price of 2019 Corollas by month) that cannot identify any person.

Changes

We will post changes here with a new effective date and, for material changes, in the extension popup.
