How fast does a car lose value in Ireland?
Median DoneDeal asking prices by model year, for the exact car you are looking at: make, model, trim, engine size, fuel, gearbox and body. Pick a car to see what a year of age costs it. Where archived listings go back far enough, you also get what the same cars were asking in earlier years. For the market as a whole rather than one car, read what the DoneDeal listings show about depreciation in Ireland.
What sellers asked for this model year in each year it appears in archived DoneDeal listings, ending with the live listings now. This is what the car actually lost, rather than what the curve above implies from cars of different ages today.
You now know what these cars cost. DD Price Tracker puts the price history, the date the ad really first appeared and the median of similar cars under the price on every DoneDeal ad you open. You will know what the seller knows before you ring.

One short email a month: which models moved, where the falls are steepest, and what a year of age is costing. Nothing else, no forwarding, and one click unsubscribes and deletes your address. How we handle it.

Asking prices, not sale prices. Model years with fewer than 3 listings are shown but excluded from the fitted rate. Earlier years and the “Asked in” columns come from archived copies of DoneDeal listing pages held by the Internet Archive, a sample that is thin for rarer cars; they appear only where 20 or more archived listings exist for the year. “Value kept” is relative to the newest model year with at least 3 listings.
Every model DoneDeal listings support a page for, with the median asking price of each model year, what it kept and what it dropped. The rest are still in the picker above.
DD Price Tracker records the asking prices of public listings on DoneDeal.ie as people using the extension open them. For the make and model you pick, this page groups those listings by model year and shows the median asking price, the middle half of prices, the median mileage and how many days the cars on sale now have been listed so far. The yearly rate is a least-squares fit of the median against age across the model years, so it answers one question for that car in Ireland right now: what does one more year of age cost, on average. Trim, engine size, fuel, gearbox and body narrow the comparison to the exact car you are looking at.
These are asking prices, not sale prices, and they describe what is on the market today rather than what any one car will be worth next year. Listings that have since sold or been removed are included by default because a sold car's last asking price is still a market observation. Where the Internet Archive holds enough older copies of DoneDeal listings, the page also shows what the same model year was asked in earlier years, which is the depreciation the cars actually went through rather than the curve implied by cars of different ages today.
